Nov 2005 - Research Ethics Training for Faculty of Medical Sciences
	A customised version of the interactive web based CITI training program in human subjects research for the Faculty of Medical Sciences was launched at the annual faculty research conference. This now provides faculty members and students an opportunity to complete on line training in human subjects research protection.

April 2005 - 1st Caribbean Research Ethics Conference

The first Joint UWI (Mona) and Univ. of Miami Research Ethics conference was held at the UWI (Mona)from April 28 - 30, 2005. The theme was "Research Ethics a Global Concern – Opportunities and Challenges for Developing Countries". At this conference a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Mona Campus of UWI and the Ethics Programs of the University of Miami allowing for formal collaboration with the Ethics Programs. Also signed was a letter from the Director of the Bioethics Program giving UWIMona access to the CITI Program's web based training program in Human Subjects Research.
